The concept of God's eternal nature is one of the most fascinating and mysterious aspects of Christian theology. As humans, we are bound by time and space and can only imagine existence in terms of beginnings and endings. However, the Bible teaches us that God is not bound by these limitations and has always existed, without a beginning or end.
In the Book of Genesis, the very first verse reads, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1, ESV). This verse implies that God existed before the creation of the universe and everything in it. Furthermore, in the Gospel of John, Jesus describes God's eternal nature in the following way: "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end" (Revelation 21:6, ESV). This statement confirms that God is not bound by time and has always existed.
But why is it important to understand God's eternal nature? First and foremost, it helps us to appreciate the majesty and grandeur of God. The fact that God has always existed without a beginning or end is a testament to his infinite power and wisdom. It also helps us to understand that God is not just a distant deity who created the world and then left it to its own devices. Rather, he is intimately involved in the world and our lives.
Furthermore, understanding God's eternal nature can also help us to find peace and comfort in difficult times. When we face challenges and struggles, it is easy to feel like our problems are insurmountable and that there is no hope. However, by understanding that God has always existed and will always exist, we can take comfort in the fact that he has a bigger plan for our lives, and that he is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28).
The question "Who created God?" has puzzled theologians and philosophers for centuries. However, the Bible teaches us that God has always existed and has no beginning or end. Understanding God's eternal nature can help us to appreciate his majesty and find peace and comfort in difficult times.
Beloved, I would advise you to keep the question aside and consider it in this light, man is a time-bound being, and God is an eternal being, the limitation of Man's understanding of God's origin is hence hindered because only the eternal can comprehend what is eternal.
Maybe when you cross the great divide on your last day, the comprehensive textbook will be given to you. I pray that we always remember that God is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, and that we can trust him with our lives and our future.
Finally, don't do yourself an injustice by staying without Jesus Christ in your life. If you have not accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, pray this prayer with me: "Lord Jesus, I come to You today as a sinner. Please have mercy on me, cleanse me with Your precious blood, and help me to live for You from today henceforth and never turn away from You, in Jesus' Holy name, Amen."
Congratulations, beloved, and welcome to God's family. Please don't stop here. If you don't belong to any church yet, try to locate one today, get committed, and serve God. God bless and keep you.
